Blantyre Baptist Academy has recorded an outstanding achievement at the 2026 ATEM Secondary School Drama Competition, with our production Point of Order finishing 2nd Position Overall at the national finals held at the Bingu International Convention Centre in Lilongwe.
The journey began earlier in the year with a group of learners, many of whom were new to formal drama training. Working under professional external direction, the team committed themselves to developing their performance skills, discipline and ability to work together. Their progress over the course of the production was remarkable.
At the divisional competition, BBA delivered a strong performance, securing 1st Position with an impressive score of 95% and earning a place at the national finals.
The national stage brought together some of the strongest school drama teams in the country. BBA's Point of Order went on to secure 2nd Position Overall, with Stella Maris taking 1st Position. The achievement was further celebrated with our own Best Actress Award.
For us, the achievement is about more than a competition result. It is a reflection of what can happen when learners are given an opportunity, receive the right mentorship and commit themselves to developing a new skill.
At BBA, we believe education extends beyond the classroom. Through drama, sport, leadership, service and other co-curricular activities, our learners are given opportunities to discover their strengths, build confidence, work with others and develop the discipline needed to pursue excellence.
